We Need a Playground

We Need a Playground

When i was a kid

That’s what we did

kids on merry go round

We went to the playground

To ride the merry go round

We didn’t have to go to the other side of town

But now its difficult for one to be

Found

kids with praying hands on the playground on their knees

Now we need a pray ground you see

Where we can all take a knee

kids hold hands with heads bowed

We need a place to unite in prayer

Knowing that God will meet us there

kids raising hands up toward heaven/sky

We need a space

We need a place

To fall on our face

To slow down our pace

To realize grace

To feel the Spirit’s embrace

As I look around

I see an urgent need

For a Prayground

We Need a Prayground

The children are playing

The schools are decaying

The naysayers are saying

The crime aint playing

We need a ground to pray

For these kids every day

A place to rejoice and relax

To unwind from life’s tax

We need a ground to play

We need a ground to stay

We need a ground today

We need a ground this way

We need a Prayground

A place for a child to be a child

Although they are children all the while

A place to be at ease

Not jumping at every move and sneeze

A place to socialize

And enjoy the big blue skies

A place to for children to thrive

And a source of hope to stay alive

We Need a Prayground
